You all know I love snow, so I’ve been anxiously awaiting for this day to come. In true Lorelai Gilmore fashion, I couldn’t pass up the first snowfall of the winter without spending time outside wandering around and enjoying the snow. I also wanted to test out my camera in the snow for the first time. Luckily, my Lumix is weather sealed so I didn’t have to worry about the constantly falling snow messing up my shots! I did, however, have to worry about my fingers going numb, something from which I’m still recovering.
Despite my numbed fingers, I had a delightful time wandering around Central Park. I hit up my usual route through the park and then meandered along some different paths before finding myself at the 76th street exit.
There’s something magical about New York City in the snow. Everything is quieter, calmer, prettier. I also spotted several cardinals perched on branches that absolutely popped in the snow! There were even some autumn colours still hanging around, making the snow even more beautiful.
Anyways, enough of my rambling—I hope you enjoy this gallery (my first one!) of the snow in NYC. I look forward to many more to come (hopefully with warmer gloves!).
