I can’t tell you how excited I am to head off on my grand European adventure. Unlike a lot of people I know, I didn’t travel around the world when I was younger. I lived in three states and visited a couple more, but didn’t leave the country until the summer after high school when I went to Paris for two weeks. That only added fuel to the fire for my somewhat constant desire to travel and see the world. Studying in Paris this summer and attending LSE this year has given me the opportunity to live in two different countries and visit three other ones. But starting Friday morning at 6:50 AM (ick), I’ll visit 10 countries and add 8 of them to my list of new countries visited. Wow. I’m astonished. I’ve saved up my money, I’ve researched destinations, accommodation, transportation and languages to no end, and I’ve finally created my travel plan that will hopefully lead to the trip of a lifetime. I can’t wait. So, without further ado, here is my itinerary:
1) Bruges
2) Brussels
3) Paris
4) Marseille
5) Strasbourg (with a 1 hour layover in Lyon and maybe a morning trip to Colmar)
6) Lucerne
7) Zurich
8) Vienna
9) Bratislava
10) Budapest
11) Krakow / Auschwitz
12) Prague
13) Berlin
14) Leiden (to see the tulip fields)
15) Back to Brussels and then back to London
I CAN’T WAIT! I will have my laptop with me but I can’t promise regular updates, as I will be busy seeing the world and then sleeping as much as possible every night. And maybe revising for exams for a couple of minutes. I’ll most likely post to Facebook some old posts from this summer about cool experiences, so like my Facebook page to keep up to date!!
This is such an incredible opportunity, and, even though it might make me broke, it’ll be incredibly worth it! My first longterm constant travel experience. Who knows what it will bring?!
