Great blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a
little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress
or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally confused ..
    Any recommendations? Many thanks!

      Thank you!

As for platforms, I started out on Blogger because it is very user friendly, especially for beginners. I didn’t really think about using WordPress for some reason! When I decided to self-host, I switched to WordPress to get a little more customisation and SEO.

If you’re absolutely sure you want to stick with a blog, then definitely go for the paid one straight off. If it might be something that could end, then I would stick with the hosted sites. You can have a great looking blog on both hosted and self-owned blogs though. This website gives a good run-down of both WordPress and Blogger and their pros and cons: http://howtomakemyblog.com/blogger-vs-wordpress/

I hope this helps! It ultimately comes down to preference and what you want to get out of your blog. Take some time to play around with each of them, look at some themes you might get, and see which you like more :)
