About Me

Hello there! Welcome to Life Well Wandered: a mindful travel and mental wellness blog.

In this blog, youโ€™ll find the best tips and tricks for making the most of your travels, travel tips for Europe and North America and the intersection between travel, mental health and life. I write about the wonderful cities Iโ€™ve visited and lived in, living (and traveling) with anxiety, and explorations around my home.

I believe in mindful travelโ€”a style of travel that focuses on being in the moment, seeking out local places and truly getting an insider’s look of a location.

I also believe in being open about my mental health, the struggles I’ve gone through and how travel and personal growth have saved me.

I hope you explore this site and find something that inspires you.

About the wanderer:

Iโ€™m Alex, a type-A introvert obsessed with all things travel, tea, snow and my adorable dog, Watson.

I live and work in New York City and dream of one day moving back to Europe, where I once lived for a year-and-a-half in Paris and London.

I can spend hours wandering a city with no destination in mind and spend much of my free time wandering around new neighborhoods and finding new favourite spots.

That is awesome that you landed a job with the United Nations! Hopefully, you can extend your contract and do some overseas stints here and there over time. If given that opportunity, then where would you go and why?

Thank you! I would honestly go anywhere. I’ll have to go back to school at some point but hopefully could get a job overseas, experience a new place and culture, and help make the world a better place :)

Hey Alex! I love your blog! It is funny because my family lives in Davidson, NC. However, I moved to Wales last year to complete my full undergraduate degree in Cardiff. My friend also struggles with anxiety, so seeing how you’ve conquered your fears and been able to live such a beautiful adventurous life is super inspiring to me. Keep up the good work!

Hi Susanna! Thank you so much :) I love the Davidson connection! I’ve also visited Cardiff and thought it was beautiful — I hope you’re enjoying your undergrad there! I’m hoping to move back to the UK next year! If your friend ever needs to talk to someone about anxiety, feel free to reach out :)
