Autumn in London + Something You Might Not Know About Me

It’s hard to believe that under two weeks ago I was in London, returning to my old home for the first time in two years. I was secretly worried that after leaving, I had looked on the city with rose-colored memories—that I wouldn’t love it as much as I had when I studied abroad there. But, thankfully, I was 100% wrong. I still love London, and I love it a lot.

In fact, I think I connected with it more since I had last left. Perhaps this is because I wasn’t holed up in my dorm room cramming for exams. Maybe it’s because I’ve been living in another huge city that I love. It could also be the amazing weather that greeted us throughout our entire vacation. Whatever the reason, London drew me in again and made it so hard to say goodbye.

I can’t wait to write more about my time there, but I’ll leave you with these pictures of autumn in London—a spectacular sight that can turn any jaded traveler into an awestruck spectator of falling leaves and crunchy steps.

In addition to my obsession with London and autumn in London, my obsession with squirrels also increased substantially. If you didn’t know this about me, I would love to have a pet squirrel. They’re just so cute! So, when I discovered some very friendly ones in Regents Park with my mom, I decided to befriend them. Turns out that I’m quite a squirrel whisperer! #noshame

I also think I found my calling as a squirrel photographer—anyone want to sponsor some trips to their state to photograph squirrels? Super niche but totally in demand, right?

Alex, beautiful pictures as always. I know you were so happy to return to London as I know you love the city. About the squirrels, I too love them. A little baby fell out of one of our trees long ago and I took it in and tried to save it. I fed it and loved it dearly. Rocky was not thriving and I took him to a vet but he didn’t make it. I still tear up thinking about him and remembering he died. I guess I am not the whosper you are but I love them. Glad you are well and happy. ❤️
