Hello, everyone! I hope you had a lovely week. Work has kept me super busy, which is exhausting but nice. I even got on a roll and drafted a 2,000-word blog post one night. Lots of interesting stuff to read this week so let’s just dive right in. If you missed last week’s reads, check them out here.
I love that more people with influence are talking about mental health more and more. I loved every point of this article. It’s a super quick read that I hope you will like!
Did you watch the solar eclipse?! I did—my coworkers and I were planning on going to Bryant Park to watch but we stepped outside our office and there it was! It’s absolutely crazy how obsessed America was with the eclipse. I saw one in Brussels a few years ago, and it was no big deal there. However, I would’ve like to see the eclipse from this plane. Just wow!
A really interesting read on the role of women in today’s alt-right movement and historical far right and Nazi parties.
WHY aren’t people talking about Yemen?! It’s utterly heartbreaking what’s happening there. “The United Nations says that Yemen needs $2.3 billion in humanitarian aid this year, but that only 41 percent of that amount has been received.”
1) I love Aubrey Plaza 2) I need to see this movie. Instagram does fuel obsession. Even if it’s not an obsession with one single person or product, it’s obsession with double-tapping, perfection, curating a perfect life, refreshing feeds. That’s why I’ve taken such a big step back from Instagram lately.
A must-read article on the role and recruitment of women in ISIS. I think we often forget the role women play in such organizations and it is important to remember that they exist and can be a very powerful or influential section of such organizations.
