I’ve subscribed to some fantastic newsletters since I started my new job and I look forward to reading them every day when I take my lunch break (no rest for the wicked!). I get anything from empowering articles about female professionals to interesting reads on non-conformity and personal betterment to pertinent articles on current events around the world. I haven’t been into reading books lately—my most recent spree was my last. But these articles make for some great reading if you’re in the mood for something shorter.
I’m hoping to make a weekly series out of this since I’d love to share some things I’m loving with my lovely readers. I hope you enjoy what I come across!
Here are the best articles that you need to read:
+Ask a Syrian Girl Video Series
This video series, put on by TeenVogue, follows a group of young Syrian women forced to flee their homes and settle as refugees in the United States. They tackle misconceptions about Muslims and refugees as well as their hopes and challenges on coming to the United States. I can’t imagine being in their shoes, but I very mich admire their courage and strength.
+When are people most likely to Netflix and chill with comedies?
This short article caught my attention, mostly because I spend so much time watching Netflix. Just about everything rings true for me. What about you?
+Mom who went to classes with quadriplegic son gets MBA
Oh man, I watched this video at work and was in tears. Props to the mom that attended every class with her son—she definitely deserves the honorary diploma!
+The Amazing Dinosaur Found (Accidentally) by Miners in Canada
When I was little I wanted to be a palaeontologist so naturally, I got irrationally excited when I read about the discovery of this excellently preserved nodosaur. How cool is science?!
+My Family’s Slave
Wow. This article took awhile to get through but it was quite the read. I’m still trying to formulate my thoughts on it.
