Sometimes I have those days where I wake up extremely anxious or just in a bad mood. But these 10 things always seem to cheer me up no matter how foul my mood or how crippling my anxiety.
Tea

I must be slowly turning English because tea is becoming my solution to just about everything. Wake up? Have some tea. Lunch? Tea. Struggling with an essay topic? Tea. Procrastinating? Tea. Watching TV? Tea. It’s just perfect.
My Bed
My bed is a safe place. It’s covered in a fuzzy blanket and really soft sheets. I always splurge on bed linens. If I feel sick or really stressed I always take a break and sit on my bed to relax. And maybe watch some TV.
Gilmore Girls
GG is usually my TV show of choice when I’m feeling really stressed or sick. I’ve watched the series I don’t know how many times and I know probably most of the scripts from each episode. Every episode has something to make me smile which is why I watch it so much. I’m a firm believer that nothing bad can happen when watching Gilmore Girls.
Watson

While I haven’t had the pleasure of living full time with my buddy, he always cheers me up. I talk to him via FaceTime but his adorableness never fails to make me smile. I can’t wait to see him in person in less than a month!
Wandering

I remember one day during Michaelmas Term I was feeling incredibly stressed and anxious. I was a little behind on my reading and about to go into a cafe to catch up on work. I knew I would be too stressed and panicky to get work done so I decided to get my tea takeaway and wander around London. I ended up feeling so happy and was able to get much more work done when I got back.
Writing

I have been filling small notebooks with writing this year. I’ve always written to vent my feelings but this year I’ve started writing even more, not just about my anxiety or things that annoy me. I write post ideas, I write actual posts, I write a myriad of lists. Writing makes me happy.
Friends

My friends have always cheered me up when I’m down. And being around them makes me happy.
Reminiscing

Sometimes you just get that urge to go through your old photos. The most recent time I did it was to write a blog post and it reminded me just how much I like doing it. I can’t tell you how many times I smiled at a photo or forgotten memory or experience!
Organising
Cleaning and organising de-stresses me and makes me incredibly happy. It clears my mind and gives me control over my life if nothing else seems controllable. So if you ever need someone to organise a room, let me know! I find it exhilarating!
Flowers

Flowers are beautiful. I’m obsessed with all of them. My friends know that when I see a beautiful flower I must stop and take a picture of it. I have a Photos album full of flower pictures. I can’t wait to buy flowers to brighten up my flat in the fall!
